Paul Colin
Paul Colin (1892-1985) was born in Nancy, where he apprenticed at a printing house and then studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. He became famous in 1925, when he created the first poster for Josephine Baker’s “Revue Nègre” at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Colin designed more than 1400 posters and was considered one of the “three musketeers” of French Art Deco poster art together with Jean Carlu and Cassandre.
